lower back pain can be caused by many things that you do daily.  back pain occurs when the muscles or tendon of the lower back is strained. This can happen from anything from lifting heavy objects to gardening. The most effective prevention to avoid back pain is understanding the correct position to do the task.

The most common cause of back pain is from lifting heavy objects.  Most people will bend over to pick up the object and use their back to lift it.  By doing so, you are straining the muscles of the lower back which will lead to back pain.  Instead of using your back to lift the object, use your leg to lift it.  In addition, avoid any twisting when lifting the object.

To help prevent back pain, you should exercise regularly.  Regular exercise will improve the strength and flexibility of the muscles that support the lower back.  You don’t have to do strenuous exercise to prevent back pain.  Simple exercise such as walking, jogging, or swimming will help prevent back pain and make you feel better too.

In addition to exercise, a proper diet is essential to preventing back pain. However, you should eat more food that has calcium and vitamin D.  Food that contain these two nutrients are important since they will help build healthy and strong bones and prevent osteoporosis, which can  cause bone fractures that lead to back problem.

Stretching is also important to preventing back pain.  By stretching the muscles, it will help the blood flow easier to your lower body and will help prevent back pain.  Try stretching twice daily, once in the morning and once in the afternoon or before you go to sleep.

Having back pain is not fun to live with and it will prevent you from enjoying what you like to do.  By following some of the tips above, you can prevent back pain and live a better life and enjoy doing what you love to do.
