Prevent Back Pain

Tonic or postural muscles such as the core muscles are constantly activating to maintain posture and stability and are designed to not fatigue. Core muscles, however, are inhibited by injury and prolonged poor posture. When we sit for long periods with poor posture, some muscles are over shortened while others are over stretched.

Cycling tip to prevent back pain is to choose the right bicycle that is meant for you. Your selection should be from any one of the three common types of bicycles available. Hence, you may need racing bikes, mountain bikes, or hybrid bikes. Each of these bikes has its special purpose or use. Your choice should be based on your needs.

Another great way to keep back pain during pregnancy at bay is to avoid staying at your desk for long hours. If you have to spend a lot of time behind a desk, you should try to take small breaks on regular intervals to get up and stretch your legs. However, you are strongly recommended to talk to your doctor whether you can carry out your job or not.

Always keep your muscle loose. When you workout and your muscle become tight, they shorten. Stretching your muscles will lengthen muscles and help relieve back pain. Tight back muscles, tight butt muscles, and even tight hamstrings can affect the alignment of the spine.

Other tips to prevent back pain involve exercise. Your back usually hurts because your core muscles meant to support it are too weak. If you strengthen them, you can greatly reduce incidences of pain. Exercises like squats and rows help strengthen key lower back and abdominal muscles, taking pressure off of your spine.

This is the first place you need to watch out for things. It is easy to arch your back at this point and this can cause it harm. Make sure to keep your back straight by holding it in place with your ab muscles. This will actually work those abs even more.

Another stretching exercise for the lower back strengthens the Psoas Major muscle. Kneel with one knee on the floor, the other knee bent and the foot flat on the floor. Lean forward and tighten your hip and gluteus muscles. You will feel a stretch in the front of your hip. Hold for 30 seconds and repeat with the opposite leg.

If you are sitting, make sure that you sit in a chair that has good support for your low back. Also, the chair should provide you with armrest. Do not hunch your back when sitting especially over a keyboard or the desk.

One of the biggest causes of back pain is bad posture. For example, sitting before a computer for a long time can make one to unconsciously form a bad position. Another example is twisting the backs frequently while trying to reach for something behind or beside us. In addition, odd postures are normally formed when reading or watching TV lying on the bed or sofa.

You have to do is to change your lifestyles. Yes, this is very important especially when your lifestyle leads to overweight. Too much weight on the body puts strain on the back muscles and you need to shed the excess fats in order to avoid back pain. Changes you have to do are to start engaging your body in exercises, eating diets that contain less amount of cholesterol, and avoiding smoking.
