Did you know that most cases of back pain can be prevented? What’s more, most cases of back pain go away by themselves–without special prescription drugs, doctor-prescribed physical therapy, and especially without surgery.
If you work requires you to sit for extended period, get a good chair that will allow you to sit straight. Avoid soft chair as it may seem comfy but are actually not. They can’t offer the needed support and in no time can give rise to stiffness, soreness and severe back pain.
The most important group of muscles to strengthen when preventing back pain during pregnancy is known as the ore group. These muscles were meant to support your spine and stabilize your pelvis, but if they become weak, then other body parts, like your lower back, try to compensate, often resulting in back pain.
Useful tips to prevent back pain include making changes to your bending and lifting techniques. When bending over, always keep your back straight, and bend your knees instead. When lifting, make sure your legs are doing all the work, and keep any objects you are lifting as close to your body as possible. If anything seems too heavy, don’t hesitate to ask for help.
Good posture positions the spine in a ‘neutral’ position, freeing it from tension and stress that cause back pain spine degradation. In a good posture, the bio-mechanical position of the spine is comfortably balanced by the discs, ligaments and bones in our body. When you feel the stress in your spine and back pain, while waiting in line check your posture immediately.
Warm some mineral oil or baby oil and, using an eyedropper, gently drop the oil into your ear canal. Don’t use drops if you see or feel drainage from your ear. Drainage is actually a good thing. It means that your eardrum has ruptured and the pus can drain. Seeing your ear drain can be a bit alarming, but the pain is relieved, and you will feel better quickly.
Place your feet shoulder-width apart to create a solid base of support. Bend at your knees, not at your waist. Let your spine curve naturally. Tighten your stomach muscles and lift with your legs, not your back. Be careful not to twist your body.
Sleep on your back or side instead of sleeping on your stomach. When you sleep on your back, put a pillow under your knees to minimize stress on the lower back. And when you sleep on your side, place a pillow between your knees to keep the spine properly aligned.
Back pain has been medically classified into acute back pain, also well-known as impermanent flare ups that are induced by sprains or fibrillation of ligaments and also chronic back pain which encompasses back pain that is very more long lasting and also very more difficult than the acute back pain.
The weaker they are, the more pain you will experience. By exercising, you strengthen these muscles in your back, and they will become strong enough to support your body, relieving you of pain. You don’t want to wait until the problem becomes so severe that you need medical treatment.
